Your primary mobile service for data, calls, messaging, and connected communication at home and abroad.
Onyx is an ongoing mobile service, not a temporary travel eSIM.
We built Onyx to keep your number, communication, payments, and identity synchronized as you move between devices, networks, and regions.
Plans And Coverage
Regional and global connectivity at your fingertips.
Regional options include:
- US & Canada
- Asia Pacific
- Middle East & North Africa
If you reside or frequently travel outside of these regions. Choose Global coverage.
Coverage, pricing, and available services can vary depending on local carrier support and regional telecom regulation.
Using The Service
Your plan stays active across supported regions and roaming networks.
When moving across regions, your device may briefly reconnect while registering on a new network. In some regions, registration can take up to 30 minutes depending on local carrier conditions.
Coverage does not guarantee identical speeds or signal quality everywhere. Performance can vary between cities, buildings, transit routes, airports, and rural areas depending on local network infrastructure and congestion.
Onyx brings network-agnostic coverage to your device. Legacy mobile providers force you to choose a single national carrier. Onyx works across multiple carrier partners in supported countries so your device can stay connected while networks, regions, and signal conditions change.
Number Service
Where supported, you can add an Onyx number for:
- voice calls
- SMS
- account recovery
- verification flows
Number availability depends on:
- region
- local telecom regulation
- voice and SMS support
- verification requirements
Some regions support:
- data only
- data plus voice
- data plus SMS
- local numbers
The app shows available number options before checkout.
Activation
Onyx uses eSIM activation on supported devices.
After checkout, the app prepares activation and guides setup on the phone. Depending on the device, setup may require:
- scanning a QR code
- confirming installation in cellular settings
- enabling roaming
- selecting the Onyx line for mobile data
- restarting the device after installation
Most activations complete within a few minutes, although registration timing can vary depending on the device and local network conditions.
During activation, the app shows whether the service is:
- ready to install
- active
- suspended
- expired
- or still needs attention
If activation fails, the issue is usually related to:
- device compatibility
- carrier lock status
- unsupported network bands
- interrupted installation
- disabled roaming
- delayed network registration
Managing Your Service
After activation, the app becomes the control center for your service.
From the same Onyx app, you can manage:
- usage
- renewals
- numbers
- activation state
- verification status
- wallet and payment access
- encrypted messaging and calls
- connected apps and permissions
Usage updates can occasionally appear delayed while the device switches between roaming partners or waits for local carrier reporting updates.
Device Requirements
Your device must support:
- eSIM
- compatible network bands
- roaming support where required
Some devices may need to be unlocked depending on carrier restrictions.
Different phones can behave differently during activation, roaming transitions, and dual-SIM management. Some devices may require manual roaming settings or line selection after activation.
