Onyx is a communications and payments platform designed to keep you connected at home and abroad.
Your phone number should not stop working because you landed in another country.
Payments and communications should not depend on disconnected apps, accounts, and recovery systems.
We built Onyx to keep you connected, everywhere you go.
Mobile Network
Onyx Mobile Network provides recurring mobile service across supported regions.
You choose the coverage region, the monthly data plan, and whether you want a number for calls and SMS. The app shows supported countries, pricing, renewal terms, and available services before checkout.
Current coverage regions include:
- North America
- Europe
- APAC
- MENA
- Global
Voice, SMS, local numbers, payment support, and available plans can vary depending on regional carrier support and telecom regulation.
Identity And Verification
Onyx ID manages your profile, permissions, connected apps, and verification state.
Instead of rebuilding identity across separate services, connected apps can request permissioned access through the same Onyx identity used for messaging, payments, and communication.
Some actions require additional verification depending on:
- payment eligibility
- telecom regulation
- connected app permissions
- regional requirements
Verification is handled through trusted providers and remains attached to the same identity instead of being recreated across disconnected systems.
Payments
Onyx Wallet and Borderless Payments provide wallet-linked payment functionality tied to the same Onyx relationship used for service and communication.
Depending on region and eligibility, payment features can include:
- wallet creation or connection
- send and receive
- FX conversion
- card-linked spending
- transaction activity
Some payment actions require additional verification before they become available.
Messaging And Communities
Onyx Chat keeps communication attached to the same identity used for service and payments.
Messages, voice calls, and video calls between Onyx users are end-to-end encrypted. Conversations can continue across Onyx-native messaging, SMS fallback, and phone-network fallback routes depending on recipient capability and route availability.
Communities provide shared spaces for:
- announcements
- channels
- group discussions
- moderation
- service communication
Your conversations, groups, and communication history stay connected even when networks or communication routes change.
Getting Started
To activate service, your device must support eSIM and compatible network bands. Some devices also need to be unlocked depending on carrier restrictions.
After checkout, the app guides activation on the device. Depending on the phone, setup may require:
- scanning a QR code
- enabling roaming
- selecting the Onyx line for mobile data
- confirming installation in cellular settings
Most activations complete within a few minutes, although registration timing can vary depending on the device and local network conditions.
The app shows:
- activation status
- usage
- renewals
- number state
- verification requirements
- payment eligibility
- messaging availability
Coverage, number availability, payment features, and communication routes can vary depending on region, device compatibility, verification state, and local carrier support.
