Coverage

Check region, number support, and device requirements.

Coverage explains where your Onyx plan is intended to work and what conditions can affect service after activation.

Coverage depends on:

  • your selected region
  • local roaming partners
  • device compatibility
  • network registration
  • local carrier conditions
  • number availability
  • voice and SMS support

Before purchasing a plan, confirm that the selected region and supported countries match where you expect to use the service.

Coverage Regions

Onyx currently supports five coverage regions:

North America United States and Canada.

Europe Selected European countries.

APAC Australia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, and New Zealand.

MENA United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Egypt, and Morocco.

Global A combined plan that includes supported countries across the regional groups.

Your selected region controls:

  • supported countries
  • available data plans
  • number availability
  • voice and SMS support
  • monthly pricing

Coverage lists can change over time based on roaming agreements and regional carrier availability.

Data Coverage

Data coverage allows your device to connect to supported roaming networks after eSIM activation.

Depending on the region and local carrier conditions, you can use the connection for:

  • messaging apps
  • browsing
  • maps and navigation
  • email
  • hotspot use where supported
  • video calls
  • remote work

Coverage quality can vary between:

  • cities
  • airports
  • rural areas
  • transit routes
  • underground locations
  • indoor environments

Supported coverage does not guarantee identical speeds or signal quality in every location.

Voice And SMS Availability

Voice and SMS support are separate from data coverage.

Some regions support:

  • data only
  • data plus voice
  • data plus SMS
  • local numbers

Other regions may support mobile data without:

  • local numbers
  • outbound calling
  • SMS messaging

If calls, verification codes, or SMS messaging are important for your trip, confirm number availability before checkout.

Voice and SMS availability can vary based on:

  • region
  • carrier support
  • local telecom regulation
  • supported number inventory

Device Compatibility

Your device must:

  • support eSIM
  • support compatible network bands
  • be unlocked where required

Some devices can activate successfully in one region and fail in another if required bands are unsupported.

After installation, your device may also require:

  • roaming enabled
  • manual line selection
  • updated cellular settings
  • restarting after activation

Different manufacturers can handle roaming and dual SIM behavior differently.

Roaming And Network Registration

Onyx service uses roaming relationships with supported local carriers.

When you arrive in a supported country, your device registers with an available roaming partner network.

Registration time can vary depending on:

  • local carrier conditions
  • network congestion
  • roaming agreements
  • signal quality
  • device behavior

In some regions, registration may take several minutes after arrival or activation.

Crossing borders can temporarily interrupt service while the device searches for a supported roaming partner.

Network Conditions

Coverage quality can vary based on:

  • local carrier infrastructure
  • building coverage
  • geography
  • weather conditions
  • network congestion
  • device hardware
  • antenna quality
  • roaming priority

Even inside supported countries, signal quality may change throughout the day depending on local network load.

Some roaming partners can also prioritize local subscribers differently from roaming traffic.

Before You Travel

Before relying on the plan, confirm:

  • your selected region
  • included countries
  • data allowance
  • number availability if needed
  • voice and SMS support
  • device compatibility

If possible:

  • install the eSIM before departure
  • connect to Wi-Fi during activation
  • keep roaming enabled
  • review cellular settings before arrival
